The governor of the Czech National Bank has said he will ask its board this week to consider adding bitcoin to its reserves to diversify the CNB’s portfolio.
Speaking to the Financial Times today (January 29), Aleš Michl said that if the board approved the plan, the CNB could hold as much as 5% of its €140 billion ($146.13 billion) of reserves in the cryptocurrency.
“For the diversification of our assets, bitcoin seems good,” he said. He nevertheless recognised the risks and said he was “ready”
