
Providers have until end of March to fully comply with Mica regulation, European supervisor says

The European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) has said crypto asset service providers should stop the trading of stablecoins that are not compliant with its regulations by the end of the first quarter of this year.
Esma published a statement on January 17 on facilitating providers’ compliance with the Markets in Crypto Assets (Mica) regulation. It reiterated the provisions on stablecoins, which instruct providers to stop offering customers asset-referenced tokens and electronic money
