Uncertainty about the path of inflation abroad has spillover effects within the US, according to research from the Federal Reserve Board.
The study, published on January 16, says high levels of uncertainty about inflation abroad leads to greater uncertainty within the US about the path of domestic inflation. This leads to reduced levels of domestic investment, which results in lower levels of industrial production.
